Explore UF Jacksonville's science and technology future in this 12-part series covering AI, cybersecurity, semiconductors, biomedical research and innovation.

The University of Florida's new graduate campus in Downtown Jacksonville represents more than an expansion of higher education. It opens a new chapter in Northeast Florida's participation in scientific research, advanced computing, artificial intelligence and technological innovation.

UF Jacksonville: The Science & Technology Frontier is a 12-part investigative and educational series from The 101 Report examining the university's emerging academic and research programs alongside the technologies transforming industries, careers and everyday life.

Beginning with the campus's opening in 2026, the series follows the development of graduate education in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, engineering, architecture, law and business. It also explores UF's broader research ambitions involving semiconductors, biomedical science, space technologies, advanced manufacturing and national security.

Each episode connects developments at UF Jacksonville with the science behind them. What are students learning? What technologies are researchers developing? How do those discoveries move from laboratories into commercial applications? And what opportunities could emerge for students, professors, entrepreneurs, investors and established businesses?

The series also examines how Jacksonville's campus connects with UF's existing research infrastructure in Gainesville, including its NVIDIA partnership and HiPerGator supercomputing system. As new facilities, laboratories and academic programs develop, The 101 Report will track their progress against documented milestones, distinguishing established capabilities from future plans.

Our objective is to make complex science understandable while documenting how a new university campus participates in a rapidly changing technological world.

From the fundamentals of artificial intelligence to the future of semiconductor research, this series offers an evolving reference library for readers interested in the intersection of education, scientific discovery and economic opportunity.

Follow all 12 episodes as The 101 Report explores the technologies shaping UF Jacksonville's future—and the world beyond its campus.
