The state hosts various military installations, including naval bases, air force bases, and training facilities. These installations contribute significantly to the state's economy and provide employment opportunities for thousands of military personnel and civilian workers.

These counties are home to central military installations, such as Naval Station Mayport and Eglin Air Force Base.


  1. Duval County: Home to Naval Air Station Jacksonville and Mayport Navy Base. Duval County leads the state in both personnel and payroll. The base supports many naval operations, contributing to the local economy through jobs and spending.

  3. Escambia County: Naval Air Station Pensacola, a historic naval aviation training center home to the Blue Angels, is in Escambia County. The base supports thousands of personnel and contributes to the local economy.
